Helpful Hints For Our New Students
These are a few of the necessities for your first semester:
- A white lab coat – length of your preference.
- They can be purchased at any uniform store. A suggested
store is Life Uniform which can be found:
- East – 2797 S. Maryland Pkwy 369-8808

- West – 850 S. Rancho 259-3931
- Meadows Mall 870-9752
- You will be required to purchase one set of scrubs (in addition to the regular attendance scrubs) for the anatomy lab. You may consider purchasing extra sets to minimize the washing and to cope with the scent. These anatomy lab scrubs can be of any color and they can be purchased at Life Uniform, or any other company that sells surgical or nursing scrubs.
- You will need one large binder, 3-4 inches, for your anatomy
class. For all other classes a 1-2 inch binder will suffice.
All notes are provided for you, therefore your need for filler
paper is minimal, although it is nice to have some on hand.
- As for pens, pencils and highlighters…
- You will want a package of colored pencils for your anatomy
class.
- Highlighters are always beneficial for your notes and reading
assignments.
- Black pens will be your staple.
- Pencils will be helpful for test taking if you like to change
your mind.
- Note cards are a great help with your anatomy class for memorizing the muscles origins, insertions, innervations, and actions. You will use a ton of them. It is best if you buy a container to hold them or purchase the type that are on a ring.
